Harvey joined Steed and Steed in June 2007 and runs the Sudbury branch of the firm's Criminal Department. Before arriving at Steed and Steed Harvey worked in Solicitors offices in Watford and Bishops Stortford dealing with Criminal matters and over the last 24 years has built up a vast range of experience of all types of cases in Police Stations, Magistrates Courts and Crown Courts.
The nature of the work undertaken in the firm’s Criminal Department is very wide ranging. The need for a Criminal Lawyer is not just limited to those accused of Assaults, Burglary, Robbery or other serious offences. The majority of people who come into contact with the Criminal Courts do so as a result of Road Traffic Offences. This may be in the form of Speeding Offences and Drink Driving Prosecutions. Sadly accidents can happen and could result in a Prosecution for Driving without Due Care and Attention or something more serious.
Individuals in receipt of State Benefit such as Income Support, Housing Benefit or Incapacity Benefit can fall foul of the regulations and be asked to attend an interview at the Local Council Offices or Benefit Office to answer questions concerning allegations of Fraud. It is always wise to have Legal Representation at such meetings as this could be the first step towards a Prosecution.
