Domestic abuse does not discriminate. It can happen to anyone. Women and men of any age, sexual orientation, ethnicity or economic standing can be victims of domestic abuse.
Domestic abuse can take many forms including physical, sexual, financial and psychological abuse.
Sometimes victims of domestic abuse find it difficult to see a way out of their relationship. Our lawyers are here to help you take steps to move forward with your life.
As well as assisting you with a divorce or separation we can also help you apply for a court order to prevent your partner from contacting you.
- A non-molestation order prohibits your partner from being violent or threatening violence and from harassing you.
- An occupation order will prohibit your partner from entering your home.
- A prohibitive steps order deals with issues involving children such as prohibiting a parent from taking a child out of the country or prohibiting the removal of a child from their home.
In some cases Legal Aid may be available. Our lawyer will assess your eligibility for Legal Aid in your first meeting.
